“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.”
― Abraham Lincoln

I-Want-A-Happy-LifeFor the most part, my life has gone my way. I’m a planner and a doer. But life can throw some very unexpected curve balls. After suffering three miscarriages, I realized you can’t plan for everything and no matter what you do, bad things can happen. Some things are are just out of your control.

For the past few years I have been on a mission to find ways to cultivate happiness. Being grateful for what you DO have is a proven way to maintain happiness. One big reason for me is my 6 year old son (I was lucky to have one successful pregnancy). I thank the heavens every day that I was able to bring him into this world, as he has brought me such joy. I also have a loving husband and family as well as many friends that support me. They may not always say or do what I hope, but they do always try and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have found there is definitely a lot to be thankful for.

This website is dedicated to sharing ways to improve happiness on a daily basis. Like the quote above, I believe happiness is merely a state of mind. Change your attitude and your way of thinking and you can change your life. If given the choice, I choose happiness.

If you would like to share your story, please email me and I’ll post it to the site. I have found so much comfort in hearing and reading other people’s stories of loss, strength, hope and the never ending pursuit of happiness.

UPDATE: Shortly after starting this site I got pregnant once more and I now have a beautiful 6 year old girl along with my 13 year old son. I look at them every day with gratitude (along with frustration and the typical mom stress).
