Making others feel good about themselves is one of the best ways to make yourself feel happy. It’s somewhat of a selfish reason, but that’s okay, because everyone benefits.

The wisest, most loving, and well rounded people you have ever met are likely those who have known misery, known defeat, known the heartbreak of losing something or someone they loved, and have found their way out of the depths of their own despair. These people have experienced many ups and downs, and have gained an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, understanding and a deep loving wisdom. People like this aren’t born; they develop slowly over the course of time.
I once had a friend that was very cautious. She would suggest that I not try certain things, in fear that I might fail or somehow get hurt. I believed her until a new friend blew up that idea on life/love.
The new friend would say, “are you crazy, go for it.” My life expanded at that moment, not only because of her positive attitude, but also because I had someone who now believed in me. Surround yourself with people who cheer you on and be that friend for those who need cheering.

When faced with setbacks, don’t look around and start pointing fingers at who’s to blame. Look in the mirror and figure out what your going to do to fix it, grow and move on. Being a victim is a waste of time and energy. Only you can change your future.
